The Builder app accomplishes the following:

  • Visualizes the multitude of greenhouse configurations in an easy-to-understand web app format.

  • Allows customers to submit order requests directly through the builder, significantly reducing consultation time.

  • Dynamically adjusts display prices based on selections and currency types to provide accurate quotes.

  • Displays custom 3D models that accurately portray the measurements and sizes of the selected greenhouse combos

Development Process

The process for taking the Greenhouse Builder from ideation to release ran as follows across several moths of development:

  • Created builder prototype to prove viability
  • Analyzed client requirements to create a project development plan
  • Designed and built a scalable system for dynamically assembling greenhouse components at runtime (currently over 20 million possible combinations).
  • 3D modelled greenhouse components accurately and to scale with client products, then implemented them into the builder system.
  • Design and built a scalable web UI that dynamically adjusts to screen size in order to reach clients through web on pc and mobile
  • Set up data and cost calculations to match client prices for the vast array of options available in the builder.
  • Hooked up a builder form exporter and notification system for client needs.
  • Continuing to work with client on post-launch additions and improvements
